DEVORE NAMES TUSTIN’S PAM GOODERHAM
“Woman of the Year”
SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblyman Chuck DeVore (R-Irvine) announced today that the Assembly will recognize Pam Gooderham, producer of an inspirational documentary that led to the approval of a permanent memorial for those killed in the War On Terror, as the Seventieth Assembly District 2007 Woman of the Year.

Gooderham is a British National currently in the process of becoming an American Citizen. She will be honored on March 5th, during a special televised ceremony on the floor of the California State Assembly in Sacramento.

“The Woman of the Year Award gives me the opportunity to select one woman who has made a significant contribution to the people in my district,” DeVore said. “I chose Pam because she demonstrates that living and working in America is a great gift not to be taken lightly, and she has a deep respect for America as a nation, and to its people.”

The Northwood Memorial documentary, produced by Gooderham and her husband Steve, features the story of The City of Irvine’s tribute to those killed in action in the War On Terror. A copy has been distributed to every military family that has lost a loved one in the conflict. The documentary has also been instrumental in that community’s endeavors to build a permanent, national memorial, which will feature the name of every individual that has been killed.

n addition to this, Gooderham has received critical acclaim from such major public figures as First Lady Laura Bush, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Anthony J. Principi and many others, and has produced projects featuring well-known names such as Dionne Warwick, Senator John McCain, and other personalities.

Gooderham’s company, GD Productions is located in Tustin and can be found on the Web at www.gdpvideo.com.

The Woman of the Year Award is sponsored by the Women’s Caucus of the California State Legislature. This year marks the twenty-first annual ceremony during Women’s History Month.

Assemblyman Chuck DeVore represents the Seventieth District in the California State Assembly. The district includes the cities of Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Newport Beach, and Tustin. The Assemblyman’s website may be found at www.assembly.ca.gov. First elected in November 2004, Assemblyman DeVore is currently serving his second term in the California State Assembly as Vice-Chairman of the Revenue & Taxation Committee, and Member of the Veterans Affairs Committee and Budget Subcommittee for State Administration.
